All About Electrodesiccation

What is it?
By definition electrodesiccation is a technique that uses electrical currents to cauterize or seal the skin, removing skin growths such as skin tags, cherry angiomas, as well as some vessels and spots. Think of it as a little magic wand that photoshops the skin IRL.
How long does it take?
You can book an appointment on your lunch break and return to work with no downtime.
Does it hurt?
It feels a little spicy and can sting in sensitive spots at times but discomfort is minimal.
What does my skin look like after?
The skin will be a little pink and warm after the treatment and the spot or skin tag will become a small scab. It is recommended to keep these spots hydrated and protected with an ointment and they will flake off within about a week. We advise our clients to leave the spots to heal on their own and avoid picking the skin to prevent any scarring. It is also recommended to not get the area wet for 24 - 48 hours.
The skin will return to its normal hue very quickly once the spot flakes off and it will reveal a youthful and soft texture as if nothing was there. Truly magical!
What does aftercare look like?
We recommend cleansing with a creamy hydrating cleanser and our Clean Cushiony Cleanser is perfect for face, neck and décolletage. This cleanser helps to preserve the natural protective barrier while keeping the surface clean. Pat dry and finish with the Revival Drops - Multi Active Essence for a hydrating and soothing treatment that will speed up the healing process. It contains protective antioxidants and emollient oils that will comfort sensitive skin.
As with any resurfacing treatment, protect it from UV damage with a high quality sun protection formula. We love our new powder product which has a physical mineral sunscreen of SPF 30 that can be easily applied any time of day. Just dust on and you are good to go!
