There are many misconceptions about skin care treatments out there but I am here to educate you on the treatments we offer at Fine Line. Microneedling is one of my favorites for so many reasons so let’s break down the facts.

Myth: Microneedling is very painful.

False. You may experience slight discomfort however a topical numbing agent is applied prior to your treatment making your treatment more comfortable.

Myth: Microneedling will leave holes in my skin.

False. The treatment uses a micro needle that is between .1 - 2.5 mm long to stimulate the skin and won’t leave holes in the skin.

Myth: Microneedling is only for mature skin for anti-aging

False. In addition to anti-aging benefits including plumping collagen and reducing wrinkles, microneedling works wonders for acne scars and hyperpigmentation making it an excellent rejuvenating treatment for multiple skin concerns.

Myth: I need to take time off work for healing.

False. You will look and feel like you have a sunburn for around 24-48 hours. Treatment serums and SPF is applied afterwards and you are free to apply makeup the following day.

Myth: I only need one treatment to achieve my desired results

False. Most clients need multiple treatments for desired results. The recommended treatment plan will vary for each client and skin concern so this will be discussed at your initial consultation.

Myth: Not all skin types are able to have this treatment

False. This treatment is great for all skin types and ethnicities. There isn’t the length of sun-sensitivity and heat trauma afterwards in comparison to laser, which can result in too much pigment or total loss of pigment after treatment in people with dark skin tones.

Myth: Microneedling is expensive

False. Microneedling is an affordable treatment compared to the cost of lasers and injectables.
